Versace Launches Exclusive SoHo Edition Collection

Fashion brand Versace has launched SoHo Edition, a new range of products sold exclusively online and in its recently opened SoHo boutique in New York City, founded with the intention to be a platform for creative collaborations between Donatella Versace and different curators. SoHo Edition is the first collection, which includes limited-edition T-shirts with images from the Versace archive and a board game titled Medusa & Greca.

Versace Launches New Underwear and Beachwear Collections

Versace is launching new underwear and beachwear lines for men and women in January 2013 alongside the brand’s main collections for Spring/Summer 2013. The pieces’ designs will include the iconic Medusa logo, the Greek key motif and colourful prints. Models Candice Swanepoel and Ryan Barrett were selected to feature in the promotional campaign for these new lines with art direction by Giovanni Bianco and photography by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

Christopher Kane Leaves Versus

Gianni Versace Spa has announced today that Christopher Kane is to abandon his post as designer for its Versus line. The move is part of a major strategic repositioning of the label in order to reflect changes in new trends in the fashion industry and to capture wider market opportunities. In addition, the company (under Donatella Versace’s creative leadership) has announced that it intends to focus on digital communications as a way to appeal to young consumers; develop capsule collections created in collaboration with young designers, stylists, and creatives from different walks of life; showcase new lines via presentation-events (which won’t necessarily coincide with the traditional runway format during fashion weeks); and distribute directly through new direct stores, franchising agreements, multi-brand and department stores, as well as a digital flagship store.
